The Tamaskan originated in Finland , and the Tamaskan Dog Register is the official registering entity for all authentic Tamaskan dogs worldwide. The TDR was started by the founders of the Tamaskan breed to maintain registry and health records for all authentic Tamaskan dogs worldwide. The NTCA is the US Club for the Tamaskan breed, and the website www.tamaskan-dog.us, along with its name, has been copyrighted with the United States Copyright Office.
There are those claiming to have Tamaskan dogs and misleading the public by selling cross-breeds or dogs unrecognized/unregistered by the TDR. Additionally, there is no Tamaskan Wolfdog. The Tamaskan has never been bred with wolves, despite those that wish to circulate this rumor. The Tamaskan has been bred to look like a wolf without the wolf content. Pedigree can be provided back to the foundation dogs to prove this.
Our goal is to help ensure the welfare and success of the breed through honesty and integrity. We will not resort to name calling or attempting to defame another by slander. We believe in providing information backed by facts, rather than conjecture. If you want a guarantee that you are purchasing an authentic Tamaskan, please do so from a registered breeder. ALL Tamaskan are now DNA profiled to help protect the breed against unscrupulous breeders, please do not purchase a puppy from parents that have not been DNA profiled by MMI Genomics and have a certificate stating their breed and parentage.
